From 21 June to 21 August, an exhibition of unique archive photographs of early 20th century Kraków by Antoni Pawlikowski and Franciszek Klein will be displayed in Collegium Maius.

Pawlikowski and Klein began their artistic work at the same time. The first them photographed architecture, squares, yards and streets. He took the pictures early in the morning, in order to show the pure beauty of the city. By contrast, Franciszek Klein considered street life, events, pedestrians and vehicles an important part of his photographs.

Bringing these two perspectives on the city together provides an interesting insight into how Kraków looked like 100 years ago. Besides, the exhibition will include a reconstruction of Pawlikowski’s workshop and some mementos of both photographers.

The exhibition preview will be held on Thursday, June 20 at 4.00 p.m. at Collegium Maius courtyard.
