JU Collegium Maius Museum invites you to attend the official opening of an exhibition dedicated to the famous composer’s visit in Scotland.
The exhibition presents photographs of places visited by Chopin during his trip to Scotland at the invitation of Jane Stirling, her family and friends. Jakub Orłowski’s photographs show unique locations, often unavailable to the general public, such as Calder House, New Kippenross House (Stirling’s birthplace), or Chopin’s quarters in Dr Łyszczyński’s apartment on 10 Warriston Crescent in Edinburgh.
The opening will be followed by a series of lectures and meetings that are scheduled to begin in March. The first one will feature a presentation by Paulina Pieńkowska from the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in Warsaw.
The opening will be held on 6 February 2018 at 3.00 p.m. in the JU Collegium Maius Museum basement.
