The 17th European Drosophila Conference NEUROFLY 2018 is a meeting of neuroscientists who use the common fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster, as a model organism in their research projects.
The participants of the conference will address issues such as functional organisation and evolution of the nervous system, biological clock and rhythm, nervous system development regulation, the role of glial cells in the nervous system, models of neurological disorders in humans, and many more.
The meeting will feature a plenary lecture by Michael Rosbash (Brandeis University, USA) who, together with Jeff Hall and Michael Young, was awarded last year with the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discovering the molecular mechanism of the biological clock.
