Language courses at the Jagiellonian Language Centre during the academic year 2022/2023

Are you a Jagiellonian University student, doctoral candidate, or staff member wishing to improve your skills in a foreign language you already know, or start learning a new one? You are welcome to enrol for the courses run by the Jagiellonian Language Centre, which provides an opportunity to learn 10 foreign languages at various CEFR proficiency levels.

A vast majority of the courses include 54 class periods per semester (two meetings per week). The classes are held either online or on-site in the premises of the Jagiellonian Language Centre at ul. Ingardena 3.

People associated with the Jagiellonian University (students, PhD candidates, as well as academic and administrative staff) are entitled to a tuition fee discount (see the language course offer for details). The admission to courses is open from 1 September 2022 and will close when all places are taken (see enrolment for details). The classes start on 10 October (see class schedule for details and choose the time and mode of classes). Other courses offered by the Jagiellonian Language Centre include:

  • free online English course consisting of 42 units, 17 thematic i 25 grammatical ones – refresh lexicon and grammar on B2 level
  • language courses for students (standard lectorate and supplementary lectorate) and PHD students/candidates, including people with disabilities.
  • thematic courses oriented at developing language competence in a specific thematic area (e.g. English for Psychology or Current Trends in Society and Culture) or in the field of specific language skills, such as speaking, writing or reading (e.g. Online Pronunciation Practice and Conversation or Reading Addicts Unite!), 
  • general Courses for seniors, focused on developing all language skills, in a way that takes into account the needs and capabilities of participants, with specifically adapted teaching materials.
