On 22 February 2016 another Orientation Week for the incoming Erasmus+ students started at the Jagiellonian University.
It has been the second such event in this academic year. There are 202 Erasmus+ students who decided stay at the Jagiellonian University for the second semester and 265 new international students who joined them.
At the welcome meeting, the new exchange students were addressed by the JU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Prof. Andrzej Mania. In his address, he encouraged them to take active part in various aspects of academic life at the Jagiellonian University and to discover the beautiful city of Kraków.
The Orientation Week is coordinated by the JU Erasmus Student Network in cooperation with the JU International Students Mobility Office. It comprises cultural events, sightseeing tours of the Jagiellonian University and Kraków, and classes of Polish language and culture as well as traditional dances. The programme also includes a lecture on culture shock and presentation of student services, such as Constellation Station and Safe Student. Besides, the participants can attend motivation and creativity workshops as well as a number of social events. The Orientation Week will conclude with a two-day trip to Zakopane in Tatra mountains.
