In response to the terrorist attacks that took place in Brussels on 22 March, the Rector of the Jagiellonian University issued the following statement.

 

 

 

 

Dear Friends, Colleagues and Students,

in the light of the tragic events that occurred in Brussels on 22 March 2016, which consumed 34 innocent lives and left 200 people injured, on behalf of the academic community of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków I would like to extend my deepest sympathies to the Belgian nation.

Today, we are all Belgians. Today, our hearts and minds go out to the grieving families and loved ones of the victims. Today, we offer our solidarity, comfort and compassion.

In the face of this terrible loss, we unite in pain with the Belgian people.
