The honorary degree of the Doctor of Science was awarded to Prof. Laidler for his lifetime academic achievements, and especially for his role in the development of international academic collaboration.
On 6 July 2016 Prof. Piotr Laidler, the JU Vice-Rector for the Medical College received an honorary doctorate from the University of Edinburgh. The award ceremony was part of the celebrations marking the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the Polish School of Medicine at the University of Edinburgh.
The honorary degree of the Doctor of Science was awarded to Prof. Laidler for his lifetime academic achievements, and especially for his role in the development of international academic collaboration, including the partnership between Polish medical higher education institutions and the University of Edinburgh. The diploma was presented by the Chancellor of the University of Edinburgh Her Royal Highness Princess Anne.
Besides, Prof. Beata Tobiasz-Adamczyk, the JU Rector's Proxy for Education and International Cooperation at the Medical College was presented with the medal for the long-standing cooperation between the JU Medical College and the University of Edinburgh.
