On 13 March, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Poland Chitra Devi Ramiah visited the Jagiellonian University. She was received by JU Rector Prof. Wojciech Nowak and Rector’s Proxy for Internationalisation Prof. Adam Jelonek.
The participants of the meeting discussed issues related cooperation between the Jagiellonian University and Malaysian higher education institutions, particularly in the areas of European studies, medicine, and chemistry. They talked about higher education in Poland and Malaysia, the potential to develop joint study programmes as well as student and staff mobility.
Chitra Devi Ramiah was appointed the Ambassador of Malaysia to Poland on 17 April 2018. She graduated in social sciences, international studies, and public administration. Previously, she has served as an ambassador in East Timor and consul general in India. She is a member of many organisations and associations, such as PPTD Malaysia (Diplomatic and Administrative Association), LEAD Women: Women Directors Enhancing Board Leadership, and Sports and Social Club of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia. In 2013, she was awarded with the Life Time Achievement Award for Distinguished and Eminent Personalities (History and Social Service) by the Loyola College and University.
