On 20 May, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Poland Margulan Baimukhan visited the Jagiellonian University. The diplomat met with JU Rector Prof. Wojciech Nowak and JU Rector’s Proxy for Internationalisation Prof. Adam Jelonek.
The participants of the meeting discussed expanding the level of collaboration between the Jagiellonian University Kazakh higher education institutions. They also spoke about the possibilities of establishing new student and staff mobility programmes as well as joint double degree study programmes, particularly in the area of International and European Studies.
Margulan Baimukhan earned a PhD in Economics at the Cracow University of Economics. He also studies at the diplomatic academies of the Kazakh Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Polish Institute of International Affairs. He has worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and, as an attaché, at the Kazakh Embassy in Poland. He is the author of several publications related to business. He is a member of the Association of Kazakh Diplomats and the educational non-profit organisation Toastmasters International. For his achievements, he has been received numerous awards, including the commemorative medals ‘20 years of Kazakh diplomacy’ and ’20 years of Kazakh constitution’.
