On 22 October, the Jagiellonian University was visited by a delegation from the University of Ghana. The guests were received at JU Collegium Novum by JU Rector’s Proxy for Internationalisation Prof. Adam Jelonek.
The delegation consisted of Prof. Samuel Kwame Offei (Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs), Prof. Samuel Agyei-Mensah (Provost, College of Humanities) and Benedict Fosu Adjei (Senior Assistant Registrar, Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Academic and Student Affairs). The Jagiellonian University was represented by Prof. Robert Kłosowicz (JU Institute of Political Science and International Relations), Dr Anna Zubek (JU Natural Sciences Education Centre), dr hab. Piotr Rozpondek (Małpolska Centre of Biotechnology), Prof. Piotr Szwedo (JU Faculty of Law and Administration), and Dr Izabela Zawiska (JU Office of International Relations).
The first part of the meeting was conducted by Prof. Adam Jelonek, while in the second part of the meeting, the guests were received by JU Rector Prof. Wojciech Nowak. The participants of the meeting discussed different forms of cooperation that could be established between the Jagiellonian University and Ghanaian higher education institutions, in particular, creating joint study programmes in various fields and expanding student and staff mobility within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme. Next, representatives of JU institutions presented some of the research projects carried out at the University and pointed to the possible ways of developing them in collaboration with Ghanaian universities.
