COVID-19 patients successfully treated at the University Hospital

As stated by the University Hospital in Kraków press office, nine people have recently been diagnosed as having recovered from SARS-CoV-2 infection. They show no signs of disease, and testing has confirmed the absence of the virus in their organisms. Currently, there are 159 infected patients being treated at the Hospital.

‘Last week, we released four women aged 53 to 64 and three men aged 45 to 51. One of the latter was in the hospital for almost a month, starting on 15 March. Yesterday, we released two more people: a 43-year-old man and a 73-year-old woman. All of the former patients were tested for the presence of coronavirus in their organisms twice over a period of 24 hours. The results came back negative’, said Maria Włodkowska, University Hospital in Kraków press officer. ‘We’re expecting that we’ll be able to release several more people in the near future’, she added.

According to the official reports, there are 571 COVID-19 patients in the Małopolskie voivodeship, 181 out of which are currently being treated in hospitals, mainly the University Hospital in Kraków. The remaining 345 infected people feel well enough to remain in isolation at home. Some 12,500 have been quarantined by the authorities for safety and prevention reasons. To date, 15 people in the region have died due to the coronavirus.
