JU Botanical Garden reopens to visitors

JU Botanical Garden reopens to visitors

From Tuesday, May 26, the outdoor part of the Botanical Garden of the Jagiellonian University is once again open to visitors.

Late May and early June are the peak of blooming season in the JU Botanical Garden. The flowering plants include irises, Centaurea mollis, rhododendrons, wild garlic, alpine meadow-grass, Aquilegia, known for their spurred petals, as well as Chinese wisteria – a vine from the legume family characterised by large masses of violet-blue flowers in hanging racemes.

The garden can be visited from 12.00 to 6.00 p.m. from Monday to Friday and on Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays from 10.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m., but the tickets have to be purchased at the ticket office by 5.00 p.m. Up to 500 people can be in the garden at a time. All visitors are required to keep to the social distancing rules and other safety restrictions in accordance with the current national regulations. In the weeks to follow the garden will not sell any plants, but it will be possible to organise photo and film sessions there.
