The project run by a consortium of two academic centres from Poland, as well as from Greece and Malta, under the leadership of the JU Institute of Culture, won a 212,187 euro grant within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme. The joint undertaking aims to foster the development of research and teaching staff as well as educational opportunities in the field of new immersive technologies for artists and culture and media managers.
The international team coordinated by Dr Marta Materska-Samek from the JU Institute of Culture won a grant within the framework of action 2 of the Erasmus+ programme on strategic partnerships for innovations. The project "Experience and immersive technologies - from creative practice to educational theory" is run in collaboration with the Leon Schiller National Film School, the University of Malta and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
Research and teaching innovations
The project aims to foster development of research and teaching staff at the institutions participating in the project as well as educational opportunities for artists and culture and media managers in the field of new immersive technologies, such as augmented reality, virtual reality, or mixed reality and the ways of using them in order to engage users. Students of the partner institutions will also be invited to participate in the project and take part in summer schools in Malta, Greece, and Poland.
As part o the project, the team is also planning to work out new curricula, syllabuses of courses devoted to immersive technologies as well as a textbook on experience management and immersive technologies. The goals of these activities include the development of innovative teaching methods. The results of the project can be also used by independent young artists, who, having access to the developed syllabuses and open educational resources will be able to individually pursue their passions and interests.
