On 25 February 2021 the Jagiellonian University Vice-Rector for International Relations Prof. Dorota Malec took part in an online meeting with the Consul General of Ukraine to Kraków Vyacheslav Voynarovskyi and a Ukrainan delegation from Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast: the First Deputy Chair of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Council Vasyl Gladiy and the Rector of the Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University in Ivano-Frankivsk Prof. Igor Tsependa.
The participants discussed the ongoing collaboration between the Jagiellonian University and Ukrainian institutions of higher education and the prospects of expanding this partnership within the framework of new projects and initiatives.
As 2021 marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Vasyl Stefanyk, the writer and a political activist after whom the Ivano-Frankivsk university is named, who studied at the Jagiellonian University, the plans to hold a joint conference to celebrate this occasion were also put forward at the meeting.
