According to Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2024, published on 27 September 2023, the Jagiellonian University is ranked in the range 601-800, achieving the highest score among 37 Polish higher education institutions taken into account, and maintaining the top position from the previous year.
The authors of this year’s ranking analysed data from 1,904 universities across 108 countries. The JU was globally ranked between the 601st and 800th place, together with the University of Warsaw and Wrocław Medical University, which respectively took second and third place among Polish institutions of higher education.
The ranking, created by the British magazine Times Higher Education evaluates universities based on our new WUR 3.0 methodology, which includes 18 carefully calibrated performance indicators that measure an institution’s performance across five areas: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook.
For the eighth consecutive time the ranking was topped by the University of Oxford, UK. Second place was taken by Stanford University, followed by the Massachussets Institute of Technology, which respectively replaced Harvard University and the University of Cambridge.
