JU Medical College awarded for its public health education programme

Europubhealth+, a study programme realised at the JU MC Institute of Public Health, has won the first place in the ASPHER Deans & Directors Award for the best public health education programme in Europe. The award ceremony will take place next Friday in London, during the annual ASPHER meeting.

Dr hab. Michał Kowalski becomes a new ad doc judge at the European Court of Human Rights

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the names of persons who will act as ad hoc judges at the European Court of Human Rights. (ECHR) in 2018-2020. They include Dr hab. Michał Kowalski from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University.

Tad Taube becomes an honorary doctor of the Jagiellonian University

On 12 June, the title of Doctor Honoris Causa of the Jagiellonian University was conferred upon Tad Taube, chairman of Taube Philanthropies and board president emeritus of the Koret Foundation in San Francisco. The philanthropist was awarded for his contributions to the revival of Jewish culture in Poland, particularly in Kraków, and promoting the history and culture of Polish Jews internationally.
