The 12th edition of the Neuronus 2022 IBRO Neuroscience Forum organised by members of the Neuroscience Student Academic Society and the staff of the Institute of Zoology and Biomedical Research of the JU Faculty of Biology as well as the Institute of Psychology of the JU Faculty of Philosophy.
The 12th edition of the Neuronus 2022 IBRO Neuroscience Forum organised by members of the Neuroscience Student Academic Society and the staff of the Institute of Zoology and Biomedical Research of the JU Faculty of Biology as well as the Institute of Psychology of the JU Faculty of Philosophy.
The main aim of the conference is to offer researchers the opportunity to share their latest discoveries, experience and knowledge as well as get in touch with their colleagues working in various branches of neuroscience. The event will include topics such as neurobiological basis of love, the role of visual cortex in visually impaired people and the impact of healthy lifestyle on intelligence and ageing. The conference will be divided into four thematic categories: Cognitive Neuroscience, Biological Neuroscience, Computational Neuroscience and Medical Neuroscience.
Just as in the previous editions, the Forum will feature well-known experts in neuroscience, such as:
- Lauri Nummenmaa (Turku PET Centre, Finland),
- Florian Engert (Harvard University, USA),
- Marina Bedny (John Hopkins University, USA),
- Mathias V. Schmidt (Max Planck Institute of Psychiatry, Germany),
- Suzana Herculano-Houzel (Vanderbilt University, USA),
- Charles Hillman (Northeastern University, USA),
- Valery Grinevich (Heidelberg University, Germany).
The programme features 7 plenary lectures, 21 symposia, 3 poster sessions as well as a special session on astrocytes. The entire event will be held in English.
On the day before the conference, young researchers will be able to participate in a workshop regarding data analysis, which will provide them with an excellent opportunity to improve their skills and gather valuable knowledge.
All those interested in brain research, programming, data exploration and machine learning can take part in the Brainhack 2022 hackathon, an accompanying event with will be organised on 21–23 October.
