16 September marked the first time Horizon Europe Weeks (HEW) – an initiative aimed to facilitate contact between experts in various branches of science – was organised at the Jagiellonian University. The three-day meetings allow participants to discuss their research, exchange knowledge, and begin collaboration within the framework of international research projects.
The initiative was spearheaded by JU Vice-Rector for Research and Structural Funds Prof. Stanisław Kistryn and Faculty of International and Political Studies Vice-Dean for Educational Affairs Dr hab. Paweł Laidler, Prof. UJ with the support of JU International Relations Office and Centre for Project Administrative Support.
The first meeting was organised at the Niepołomice Castle. It was attended by 8 researchers from 5 universities (University of Ljubljana, University of Warwick, University of Leuven, University of Salamanca, and the Jagiellonian University) whose work is related to the subject of migration and integration in European countries. This year’s HEW is coordinated by Dr hab. Monika Banaś, Director of the JU Institute of Intercultural Studies.
Additional 8 meetings are planned to take place until the end of 2019.
