Kraków doctors buy specialist equipment for Lviv hospital

Kraków doctors buy specialist equipment for Lviv hospital

The State Border Guard Clinical Hospital in Lviv will receive highly specialised equipment worth nearly 70 thousand zlotys, bought with money collected by the University Hospital in Kraków staff during an internal fundraising scheme aimed to help Ukraine.

‘We knew from the start that any help we send to Ukraine as hospital staff should involve things that can’t be bought in an ordinary shop – something that requires not only a large sum of money, but also experience and proper authorisation. At the same time, we wanted the equipment we buy to prove useful for every hospital and every procedure’, stressed Marcin Jędrychowski, Director of the University Hospital in Kraków.

The hospital staff has chosen several sets of cutting edge surgical equipment, including tweezers, forceps, clamps and haemostats as well as tools used in endoscopic and laparoscopic surgeries. All equipment is subject to six month warranty and eligible for service repairs.

The funds were collected over the period of more than one month by the University Hospital in Kraków staff. The equipment will be donated to the State Border Guard Clinical Hospital located near the Lychakiv Cemetery in Lviv. The hospital is involved in treating border guard personnel all over Ukraine.
