On 14 May, the Jagiellonian University was visited by the Rector of the National University o Kharkiv Prof. Tatyana Kaganovska together with the former Rector of that higher education institutions Prof. Vilem Bakirov. They were received by the JU Vice-Rector for International Relations Prof. Dorota Malec along with Dr hab. Piotr Bajor, Prof. UJ from the JU Institute of Political Science and Prof. Leszek Korporowicz from the JU Institute of Intercultural Studies.
Despite the Russian military action in Ukraine, the higher education institutions in the country are still trying to carry out their activities. Classes are held online, and representatives of the National University of Kharkiv strive to provide assistance to all members of the academic community. ‘Planning the future of the university, including the next academic year, is of vital importance’, said Prof. Kaganovska.
The participants of the meeting discussed the Jagiellonian University’s programmes for foreign students and expanding collaboration with Ukrainian higher education institutions. The members of the delegation also expressed their thanks for the Jagiellonian University’s support for Ukraine since the first days of war.
