The world’s first gastrectomy and pioneering studies on X-ray tomography are just some examples of historic achievements of physicians from the JU Medical College. The MuFo Museum of Photography in Krakow presents an outdoor exhibition devoted to their accomplishments. The exhibition marks the establishment of the historical-cultural route Via Medicorum, which is being created in Wesoła – a district inextricably linked to the history of Kraków medicine.

The virtual exhibition on Portuguese literature was inspired by the 450th anniversary of printing the Portuguese national epic Os Lusíadas written by Luís Vaz de Camões. Additionally, it marks the 130th anniversary of establishing of the Jagiellonian University Institute of Romance Studies. The main aim of the exhibition is to present both Portuguese literature and one of its greatest creators to the general audience.

In 1978 Jerzy Strzetelski and Zygmunt Mazur from the Institute of English Philology at the Jagiellonian University organised the first of what was to become a triennial international conference. April Conference Fifteen will continue the tradition of bringing together scholars working in various fields of English and American Studies, including literature, general and applied linguistics, translation and cultural studies, teaching of English as a foreign language, and other related topics. The theme of this year’s conference is 'Humanity/Humanities'.
