ERASMUS+ Staff Training Week 2016

As in the previous years, the JU Office of International Relations organised an event aimed to facilitate the exchange of experience in higher education institution internationalisation: Erasmus+ Staff Training Week – JUst a Week. The event is directed to the staff of higher education institutions from the European Union as well as those from outside of Europe which participate in the KA103 and KA107 Erasmus+ programme.

During five days, the participants will discuss higher education institution internationalisation, international cooperation, and student and staff mobility. They will also debate on topics such as mentoring, centres for information and assistance for foreign academic staff and students, quality of education assessment as well as students safety.

By taking part in the "Polish for Beginners" class, the guests will be able to learn basic expressions in Polish. Additionally, Scott Simpson will deliver a lecture on cultural shock. Moreover, the Disability Support Service, JU Rector's Proxy for Student Safety, Health and Safety Inspectorate, and Erasmus Student Network will present their duties and activities.

The participants of the Training Week represent various higher education institutions from Spain, Greece, Great Britain, Germany, Croatia, Italy, Turkey, Finland, Portugal, Denmark, Armenia, China, the Czech Republic and the Netherlands. The training is accompanied by several cultural events, such as visiting the Jagiellonian Library, Collegium Maius, Collegium Novum and the 3rd Campus of the 600th Anniversary of the Jagiellonian University Revival.

The opening of the Training Week was held  on 20 June 2016 in Collegium Wróblewski. The Jagiellonian University was represented by Prof. Stanisław Kistryn, JU Vice-Rector for Research and Structural Funds, and Dorota Maciejowska, Head of the international Relations Office.
