Ukrainian state decoration for dr Bożena Zinkiewicz-Tomanek

HE Markian Malski, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland together with HE Vitalij Maksymenko, Consul General of Ukraine in Kraków, decorated Dr Bożena Zinkiewicz-Tomanek with the Order of Princess Olga, (third class), Ukrainian state decoration established in 1997.
The order is bestowed on women who rendered significant services to the state, education, culture or charity. Among the recipients of the Order are: Ludmiła Wierbicka, the Rector of Saint Petersburg University, Oksana Zabuzhko, writer and poet, and Sofia Rotaru, singer.
Dr Bożena Zinkiewicz-Tomanek worked as a scholar at the Jagiellonian University for over 40 years. Now she is a retired Senior Lecturer in the Chair in Ukrainian Studies, Institute of East Slavonic Studies, where for six years she held the office of the head of the team of Ukrainian language tutors.
Dr Bożena Zinkiewicz-Tomanek's research interests revolve around East Slavonic linguistics, contemporary Russian (word formation, syntax) and contemporary Ukrainian (cultural studies, phonetics, word formation, derivation).
She has written a number of publications on these fields including the first Ukrainian textbook for students of Ukrainian Studies in Poland.
