Brilliant performance of JU student at Winter Universiade
Weronika Biela, a student of Applied Mathematics and Experimental Physics at the Jagiellonian University took sixth place in women's snowboard parallel giant slalom at the Winter Universiade in Granada. After a brilliant performance in both qualification rounds (she achieved fifth place twice, which was the best result among the Polish female contenders). In the quarter-final she defeated Emilie Aurange from France, who has been the junior women's vice-champion of the world. The run can be watched on the Polish team's Facebook profile. The Polish squad at the 27th Winter Universiade, which took place in Štrbské Pleso and Granada, included two more Jagiellonian University students, both snowboarders: Aleksandra Król and Natalia Ficek.
