On 19 September Prof. Stanisław Kistryn, the JU Vice-Rector for Research and Structural Funds received the delegation of experts from the Chinese Ministry of Education.
The delegation consited of the Deputy Director of the Foreign Experts Office Xia Mingjiu, a specialist at the Foreign Experts Office Wei Ling, the Deputy Director of the International Staff Exchange Association Peng Hao, and the Deputy Director of the European Department of this association Cai Rui.
The meeting was also attended by Dr Joanna Wardęga, the head of Confucius Institute in Kraków, its deputy head Han Xinzhong, the head of JU International Relations Office Dorota Maciejowska and JU Vice-Rector’s assistant Małgorzata Nanke.
During the meeting, Prof. Kistryn acquainted the Chinese delegation with the most important information about the Jagiellonian University, with special focus on the international cooperation and participation in international research projects. Dorota Maciejowska discussed the Jagiellonian University’s collaboration with Chinese institutions of higher education as well as its educational offer in the area of Chinese Studies and Chinese language courses.
Xia Mingjiu pointed out that it was the first visit of his institution to Poland and stressed that the Jagiellonian University has been chosen as the destination because of its academic rank, research quality and long-standing collaboration with Chinese higher education institutions.
The meeting participants talked about the existing mutual cooperation in the area of education, research, and Chinese culture promotion and the prospects for its further development in the years to come.
