Latest issue of Fritillaria Kurdica bulletin now available

The Section of Kurdish Studies of the JU Institute of Oriental Studies presents the latest issue of Fritillaria Kurdica bulletin, prepared within the framework of a research project entitled "How to make a voice audible? Continuity and change of Kurdish culture and of social reality in postcolonial perspectives".

The 15th issue of the bulletin presents the Polish translation of four short stories by Mehmet Dicle, a young Kurdish writer from Bakur (North Kurdistan/Turkey) currently living and working in Istanbul. The first collection of Dicle’s short stories, entitled Asûs and written in the Kurmanji dialect of Kurdish language, was published in 2005 and was followed by Nara (2010) and Ta (2013). Despite being small volumes, these three books established Dicle as a leading figure among the younger generation of Kurdish writers from Bakur. The Polish translation of Dicle’s works was prepared by Joanna Bocheńska, who is also the author of the English foreword.

The latest issue of the bulletin is available here.
