Foundation for Polish Science has announced the recipients of TEAM-TECH Core Facility and TEAM-TECH Core Facility PLUS grants. A donation of nearly 3.5 million PLN (about 800,000 euro) will be assigned to a project by Dr Sebastian Glatt from the JU Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology.
The aim of the TEAM-TECH Core Facility programme is to improve human potential in the R&D sector in team projects pursued by scientists (regardless of nationality) having outstanding experience in implementing the results of scientific research in economic practice, or in providing research services or operating research equipment for corporate customers or other customers including other research units.
Three out of nine projects were selected in both Core Facility programmes through a three-stage merit-based evaluation.
One of the two grants awarded within the framework of the TEAM-TECH Core Facility programme, amounting to nearly 3.5 million PLN, will be given to Dr Sebastian Glatt for the purpose of establishing a structural biology laboratory at the JU Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology. The laboratory will develop advanced measuring techniques in the area of structural biology to help identify new diagnostic markers and design new pharmaceuticals.
Both Core Facility programmes are funded by Foundation for Polish Science within the Smart Growth Operational Programme 2014–2020.
