JU scholars to conduct research at prestigious foreign universities

The Polish National Agency for Academic exchange has announced the award of scholarships within the framework of the Bekker Programme. The scheme will enable 13 scholars from the Jagiellonian University to carry out their research projects at prestigious academic centres in the United States, Australia, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Italy.

The aim of the Bekker Programme is to increase international mobility of Polish researchers and academic teachers by enabling them to conduct research or teach in prestigious centres around the world. Trips from 3 to 12 months-long will allow them to work with internationally renowned research teams, establish long-term cooperation and carry out joint projects with them.
Most scholarships have been awarded to researchers in the field of natural sciences (68), social sciences (37), as well as technology and engineering (32). The most popular destinations are the USA (41), Germany (21), the United Kingdom (16), Italy (12), and Australia (11).
