On May 10, the 114th international invention fair Concours Lépine, organised under the auspices of the President of France, came to a close.

The fair featured 550 innovative solutions in four main fields: quality of life improvement, medicine and medical technologies, transport, and industry, presented by exhibitors from 13 countries, including Belgium, China, Germany, Iran, Morocco, Poland, Russia, Spain, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom. Poland presented as many as 26 innovations from such areas as ecology, medicine, security, metallurgy, textile industry, machines and devices, chemistry, mechanics, engineering, electronics, power industry, IT, etc.

Each year, the inventions presented at the exhibition are assessed and awarded with medals of the Association of French Inventors and Manufacturers (AIFF). The jury takes into account such factors as innovativeness, technological level, social demands, implementation and commercialisation prospects, as well as the extent to which the effectiveness of a given solution has been scientifically proved. During this year's competition, the jury awarded two silver medals and two bronze medals to innovations by the Jagiellonian University researchers.
