On 13 April 2018 during a ceremony in JU Collegium Novum the honorary doctorate of the Jagiellonian University was conferred upon Prof. Jacques Leroy from the University of Orleans. Prof. Jacques Leroy is an eminent lawyer and academic as well a friend of Poland who has long been affiliated with the Jagiellonian University Faculty of Law and Administration and the community of Kraków lawyers.

The Foundation for Polish Science has announced the winners of the 21st edition of the competition for Polish Honorary Alexander von Humboldt Scholarship. Three eminent researchers from Germany will come to Poland for a period of several months. One of them is Prof. Stefan Felsner from the Technical University of Berlin. Professor Felsner will be involved in a project entitled ‘Dimensionality Properties of Posets’ at the JU Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science.

This date marks the beginning of the contemporary Charles University – the oldest higher education institution in Central-Eastern Europe. The Jagiellonian University delegation led by the Rector Prof. Wojciech Nowak participated in the celebrations of the 670th anniversary of this event.

A veritable breakthrough in medicine, it allows surgeons to see patients’ internal organs in real-time with the help of augmented reality.
