The Ambassador of Peru to Poland paid a visit to the Jagiellonian University on 5 November 2015. He was accompanied by the Consul General of Peru to Kraków Dr hab. Andrzej Krzanowski.
The diplomats were received in Collegium Novum by the Rector of the Jagiellonian University Prof. Wojciech Nowak. During the meeting, the Ambassador was acquainted with the most important facts about the oldest Polish academic institution. The discussed topics were especially focused on higher education in Peru and Poland and the prospects of expanding collaboration between the Jagiellonian University and Peruvian academic institutions.
Alberto Salas Barahona entered the Peruvian diplomatic service in the late 1970s. He has served at diplomatic posts in France, Austria and Czech Republic (Ambassador of Peru 2005-2010), has represented Peru at UN bodies and worked in the International Atomic Energy Agency. From 2013 to 2015 he was the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of Peru. He became the Ambassador of Peru to Poland in August 2015.
Dr hab. Andrzej Krzanowski is a member of the Jagiellonian University academic staff, the head of the Department of Latin American Studies at the JU Institute of American Studies and Polish Diaspora.
