Erasmus+ Staff Training Week starts at the Jagiellonian University

Erasmus+ Staff Training Week starts at the Jagiellonian University

On 24 June 2019, the JU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Prof. Armen Edigarian opened the Erasmus+ Staff Training Week at the Jagiellonian University, organised annually by the JU International Relations Office. This year, the meeting is co-organised with the US partners from the Indiana University Bloomington, whose representatives have come to Kraków to run seminars and workshops together with JU staff.

As in previous years, the Erasmus Staff Training Week is devoted to the internationalisation in higher education. This year’s edition focuses on the issues related to universities’ participation in international cooperation networks, including the new European Universities Initiative by the Erasmus+ programme as well as the processes of “internationalization at home”.

During five days of meetings, the participants will discuss the benefits of broadly understood international cooperation and the ongoing challenges faced by higher education institutions.

The event features 30 participants from universities collaborating with the Jagiellonian University within the framework of bilateral agreements and the Erasmus+ programme. They include representatives of universities from the European Union member states: Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Ireland, Turkey, Hungary, the UK, Italy as well as other countries, such as China, Egypt, Jordan, Kenya, Morocco and the USA.

The participants have the opportunity to take part in a number of workshops, seminars, and courses as well as visit some of the most interesting places of the Jagiellonian University, including Collegium Novum, Collegium Maius, take a walk around Kazimierz district, and participate in a quiz testing knowledge about Poland, Europe, the Erasmus+ programme, and the Jagiellonian University.
