On 6–8 July 2017, Prof. Stanisław Kistryn, JU Vice-Rector for Research and Structural Funds, visited the University of Novi Sad at the invitation of its Rector, Prof. Dušan Nikolić. The visit was a follow-up of the memorandum of understanding signed on 11 May at the Jagiellonian University.

Opening of the University Apiary

Last Saturday, the official opening of the Jagiellonian University Apiary took place at the JU Botanical Garden. The University will collaborate with a local Kraków apiary to provide the required education to beginner beekeepers, produce honey, and join the bee protection initiative.

25 beehives housing somewhere around 400,000 bees were installed in the new University Apiary, the centre of which is located in the JU Botanical Garden. Its inception is a great opportunity to discuss the dramatic situation these fluffy insects have found themselves in.
