JU students and doctoral students are welcome to take part in the evaluation of courses they have attended. The survey data and especially the opinions on merits and weaknesses of specific lectures and classes gives the academics a valuable feedback on their work and enables the authorities of university units to reward the best academic teachers.

The student evaluation of courses provides the academics with information that they can use to improve their teaching practice and plays an important role in the academic staff assessment as well as the evaluation of strengths and weaknesses of courses and curricula. The results pertaining to particular courses are available to staff members who run them as well as selected members of their university units’ authorities. The best rated staff can receive awards for high performance in teaching. The survey is carried out by means of an individual account that every student is allocated to within the University Study-Oriented System (USOSweb). Each student or doctoral candidate can find there a list of questionnaires which are available to him or her. The surveys are also available in the Mobile USOS UJ app, which can be downloaded from Google Play and App Store.

The surveys are conducted on a voluntary basis with full respect for confidentiality.
