Interdisciplinary student conference SeMPowisko 2024

SeMPowisko is an annual event organised for 22 years by the JU Mathematics and Natural Sciences Student Association. The aim of the conference is to provide students with the opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience in different areas of exact sciences. The participants can present the results of their own research and listen to presentations from many different areas.

'In previous years, we had the honour to host a several eminent scientists, such as Professor Shigehiro Nagataki from the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology. This year’s conference will be unique due to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Mathematical and Natural Sciences Studies. The Jubilee celebrations will culminate on 20 April with a gala held in JU Auditorium Maximum building, featuring guest lectures by distinguished alumni of the programme. Hence, all SMP graduates are welcome to take part in this event. For them, the participation is free of charge’, say the organisers.

Sempowisko is a student conference and thus the organisers invite all student of exact sciences, both from the Jagiellonian University and other higher education institutions to take part in the event, either actively or passively.

Both online and in-person participation is possible. The participants must register by 15 March. The registration link, along with detailed information for prospective participants, is available on the website indico.cern.ch. Abstracts must by submitted via a separate form. The on-site participants are required to pay a 30 PLN registration fee.
