Several hundred international students participate in the Summer School of Polish Language and Culture

On Saturday, 2 July 2016 the grand opening 47th edition of the Jagiellonian University Summer School of Polish Language and Culture was held in the JU Collegium Novum.

The participants were welcomed by the JU Vice-Rector for University Development Prof. Maria Jolanta Flis, whereas the opening welcome lecture "Lost and Found in Translation" was delivered by Dr hab. Michał Rusinek.

This year, programmes of the School will be attended by more than 400 participants from 35 countries from different parts of the world. Besides two-, three-, or four-week-long open courses, the school also includes several specialised courses. Its offer also comprises the Programme "Explorers' Summer" for young learners aged 13-17.

The main part of the Schools' educational offer consists of Polish language courses at 6 different levels of advancement. Besides, the students of the Summer School of Polish Language and Culture can attend afternoon classes in Polish history, literature, Polish-Jewish relations and grammar, as well as evening language, dancing and cooking classes.
