The coming days are expected to provide perfect weather conditions for outdoor walks. Early spring is a very good time to visit the Jagiellonian University Botanic Garden at ul. Kopernika 27, where plants of numerous species are already in bloom. The spring mood can also be seen among birds.

According to the calendar, spring will start on 21 March. But thanks to the warmer weather, the visitors to the JU Botanic Garden can already admire a variety of early spring flowers, including snowflakes, crocuses, snowdrops, hellebores, pheasant’s eyes, Puschkinia, netted irises, primroses, heaths, and Rhododendron dauricum. Increased activity of birds can also be observed, and the especially lucky visitors can even spot a tawny owl. In the greenhouses, the beautiful and dangerous (at least for small insects) carnivorous plants are currently blooming.

The JU Botanic Garden is open from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., whereas the ticket office is open until 4.15 p.m. The greenhouses and the museum are closed on Mondays. From 1 April on, the opening hours will be extended.
