The paper "Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell (iPSC)–Derived Extracellular Vesicles Are Safer and More Effective for Cardiac Repair Than iPSCs", written under the supervision of Prof. Ewa Zuba-Surma from the Department of Cell Biology at the JU Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology was recognised as one of five best articles published in 2018 in the prestigious cardiology journal Circulation Research.

The third edition of the Jagiellonian University International Model United Nations was successfully completed on the 25th November 2018. The annual 3-day conference is a simulation of a scientific conference and a role-playing game, during which the participants replicate the working groups of the United Nations Organisation, as well as acquire leadership, language, public speaking and diplomatic skills.
