The Jagiellonian University Centre for Technology Transfer CITTRU offers a new ecological solid fuel additive, suitable for household use in solid fuel fired boilers. The product improves fuel combustion efficiency and decreases soot generation, thus contributing to environmental protection.
The additive can be used with bituminous coal (black coal), lignite (brown coal), coke, anthracite, peat, pellets, briquettes and wood. It reduces soot production, lowers the costs of heating, decreases combustion temperature of soot, modifies soot composition, making it biodegradable, and prevents the release of soot-related pollutants.
The eco-friendly solid fuel additive is subject to patent application. Currently the JU Centre for Technology Transfer is looking for entities interested in licensing and commercial application of this solution.
