A memorandum of understanding between the Jagiellonian University Institute of the Middle and Far East and the National Institute for International Education (NIIE), an agency of the Ministry of Education of South Korea was signed on 27 November 2015 by the Rector of the Jagiellonian University Prof. Wojciech Nowak and the President of NIIE Kim Kwang Ho.
The topics discussed during the meeting in Collegium Novum included various issues related to Polish-Korean relations and the prospects of future cooperation between the Jagiellonian University and Korean higher education institutions. As stressed by Prof. Adam Jelonek from the JU Institute of the Middle and Far East, Korean studies are the most popular field of study among the programmes currently offered by the Institute. After the meeting, the Korean delegation visited the Jagiellonian University Museum Collegium Maius.
The memorandum of understanding sets out a framework for collaboration in various areas of research and education.
