China Intellectual Property Network launched at JU

Within the framework of the project, European universities will share their own experience and good practices in the area of intellectual property management and technology transfer with their Chinese partners.

On March 26-28 the kickoff meeting of the project China Intellectual Property Network (CIPnet), co-funded by the European Commission within the framework of the Erasmus Plus programme, was held at the JU Faculty of Law and Administration. The project will be run jointly by 10 higher education institutions, including three European universities: the Jagiellonian University, the University of Alicante (Spain), and Maastricht University (the Netherlands) and seven Chinese institutions: Beijing Institute of Technology, Renmin University of China, Lingnan Normal University, Nankai University, Southwest University, Chongqing Three Gorges University, and the East China University of Political Science and Law. Within the framework of the project, European universities will share their own experience and good practices in the area of intellectual property management and technology transfer with their Chinese partners. The collaboration is aimed at creating a national network of intellectual property management in China, which will play the role of an educational platform to support modernisation, harmonisation and strategic planning of intellectual property management practices. The CIPnet project will be coordinated by the Jagiellonian University.

The meeting participants were welcomed by the JU Vice-Rector for University Development Prof. Dorota Malec and the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration Prof. Jerzy Pisuliński. During the kickoff meeting, the representatives of Chinese and European universities discussed the details of implementation of the project and paid a study visit to the CITTRU Centre of Technology Transfer and the Jagiellonian Centre of Innovation.
