Representatives of the Kyoto University took a two day tour of the Jagiellonian University's key research facilities and historical buildings.
The guests visited the Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology and Jagiellonian Centre for Innovation as well as Collegium Maius, Wawel Castle and the Czartoryski Museum. On Wednesday, they attended a meeting in the Senate Room in Collegium Novum, where they were received by Prof. Piotr Laidler, JU Vice-Rector for Medical College. The group was composed of Prof. Ikuko Hara-Nishimura, Dr Kenji Yamada, and Dr Shino Goto-Yamada. They were accompanied by Prof. Mikio Nishimura (National Institute for Basic Biology, Okazaki) and Prof. Mamiko Ozaki (Kobe University), Prof. Jonathan Heddle (Małopolska Centre for Biotechnology), Dr Kohei Nishimura (Dundee University), and Prof. Kazimierz Strzałka, Head of the Małopolska Centre of Biotechnology, who was the coordinator of the visit. The guests visited the Collegium Novum Assembly Hall, where they listened to a short presentation delivered by Prof. Stanisław Sroka.
