36 administrative staff members from European universities participate in the 2nd Erasmus Staff Training Week at the Jagiellonian University.
During the opening meeting on September 7, keynote addresses were delivered by the JU Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs Prof. Andrzej Mania, the JU Vice Rector for Research and Structural Funds Prof. Stanisław Kistryn, and the Director of JU International Relations Office Dorota Maciejowska.
Małgorzata Nanke, an assistant to the JU Vice-Rector for Research and Structural Funds presented the University's international activities, whereas Prof. Halina Grzymała-Moszczyńska delivered the lecture "Intercultural cooperation within Erasmus Program - barriers for benefiting from its full potential by all parties involved".
The meeting participants, who came from Spain, Greece, the United Kingdom, Germany, Croatia, Slovenia and Italy, had an opportunity to exchange experience in the area of international cooperation with the staff of the Jagiellonian University, as well as with each other. During their stay in Kraków they took part in a number of workshops, seminars and discussions, including an interactive workshop led by Dr. hab. Marek Frankowicz, entitled "Trends and challenges in the internationalization of higher education" or a workshop "Culture Shock" led by Scott Simpson.
The JU services offered to international students were presented by the JU Rector's Proxy for Student Safety and Security Katarzyna Jurzak-Mączka, as well as the Director of the JU International Students Mobility Office Marta Ganobis-Bednarska, and Krzysztof Byrski from the same unit.
The meeting was accompanied by a rich cultural programme, including visits to the most interesting Jagiellonian University sites as well as Wawel Castle.
The event was organised by the International Relations Office and the International Students Mobility Office of the Jagiellonian Unversity. The meetings took place until September 11.
