Jagiellonian University to become a founding member of a new cooperation network

On 20 April, a Letter of Intent establishing a new university cooperation network – European University Alliance – was signed at the University of Bologna. The Jagiellonian University was represented by JU Vice-Rector for Research and Structural Funds Prof. Stanisław Kistryn.

The Best Ever Question and Answer Book about Nature, Science and the World around You’ won main awards in the Smart Book 2017 competition, organised by the Jagiellonian University and the Euclid Foundation. The results were announced on April 19 during a gala in Collegium Novum.

Krakow Declaration on Iodine signed at the Jagiellonian University

On 18 April, the international Krakow Declaration on Iodine was signed at the JU Collegium Novodvorscianum. Its signatories – researchers participating in the European Union-funded ‘EUthyroid’ project supported by a number of worldwide organisations – appealed to European politicians and policymakers to collaborate on fighting iodine deficiency in the general population.
