Salmonella bacteria may help cancer victims in future. A breakthrough anticancer therapy developed by JU scientists received the title of the Polish Product of the Future in the category of "Technology of the Future in the Implementation Stage" on June 23, 2010. The therapy is based on a modified strain of Salmonella bacteria, which penetrate the cancer tumor and destroy it

Professor Alicja Józkowicz and professor Józef Dulak win the Tadeusz Browicz Award

The Polish Academy of Arts granted the 2010 awards of the Class V of Medicine. The 2010 Tadeusz Browicz award was granted to professor Józef Dulak and professor Alicja Józkowicz from the JU Department of Medical Biotechnology of the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology for "unique and innovative research into the role of heme oxygenase in the process of blood vessels growth."

The graduation of the 13th Edition of the German Law School

June 18th, 2010 marked the end of the 13th edition of the annual course in German Law organised by the Jagiellonan University in co-operation with the Ruprecht-Karls University in Heidelberg and the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. It was honoured by Prof. Peter Michael Huber, the Minister of the Interior of Thuringia who delivered a guest lecture entitled ‘The Renaissance of the State.'
