Late September marked the last days of this season’s work for the JU Institute of Archaeology researchers conducting their excavations in southern Jordan. For several years, they have been gathering information that will help identify the changes happening in this important area between the Neolithic and early Bronze Age.

Dr Jakub Koryl from the Chair in Early Polish Literature History of the JU Faculty of Polish Studies has been awarded with this year’s RefoRC Paper, which are presented annually for publications related to era of the 16th century Reformations by the international scientific consortium RefoRC. The organisation is one of the most important institutions concerned with early modern Christianity.

On 11 October 2018, the first students of the International Security and Development programme began their studies at the Jagiellonian University. ISAD is an international MA programme held at the Institute of Political Science and International Relations since the academic year 2018/2019, thanks to EU financial support (Operational Programme Knowledge, Education, Development).

Two JU scientists, Tomasz Kołodziej from the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Applied Computer Science and Dr Krzysztof Szade from the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology, were part of research teams whose papers have been recently published in 'Nature' and 'Nature Physics'.
